Parent FAQ
This FAQ answers common questions from parents about the SAT Practice Test Fundraiser offered by the PTA.
The SAT Practice Test Fundraiser is an opportunity for students to take a full-length Digital SAT–style practice test while supporting programs at their school. The fundraiser is organized by the school’s PTA, and proceeds directly benefit school and student activities.
The practice test is designed to help students become familiar with the SAT format and better understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
No. This is a practice test, not the official SAT.
The practice test is designed to mirror the format and timing of the Digital SAT, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the College Board and does not replace the official SAT.
The practice test platform is provided by Academy Technologies using its Online Score Tracker system. Academy Technologies specializes in test scoring and reporting tools for schools.
The fundraiser itself is organized and managed by the school’s PTA.
Students who participate will receive:
-
One full-length Digital SAT–style practice test
-
A timed testing experience similar to the SAT
-
Automatic scoring
-
A detailed score report with section and skill-level breakdowns
-
Secure online access to review results
These reports are intended to help students understand where they are doing well and where additional practice may be helpful.
Before taking the full practice test, students will have access to an optional 5-question mini-test.
This short mini-test is:
-
Completely optional
-
Unscored
-
Designed only to help students become familiar with the testing platform, tools, and navigation
It does not affect the student’s practice test score or reports.
The test is taken online, using a computer with internet access.
The PTA will communicate the testing window (dates and times) to families. Depending on the school, the test may be taken:
-
At home during a scheduled window, or
-
At school during a proctored test session
Specific instructions are provided by the PTA.
The cost is set by the PTA and will be communicated in the fundraiser announcement.
All payments are collected directly by the PTA, not by Academy Technologies. Proceeds from the fundraiser support school and student programs chosen by the PTA.
Scores are generated automatically after the practice test is completed.
Students can log in to the Online Score Tracker platform to view their own score reports. PTAs and schools receive aggregate summary information only (for example, overall participation or general score ranges), not individual student accounts or login information.
